Michigan's Push for Broadband Coverage!
As part of the 2009 Recovery Act, $7.2 billion is awaiting allocation to improve broadband connectivity throughout the nation. On this Web site, you will find information concerning the benefits of broadband, the impact of the Recovery Act, and the current efforts to bring ARRA dollars to Michigan. Questions? The second and final round for Recovery Act broadband funding is now open. The window for submitting applications runs from February 16 thru March 15, 2010. To apply or obtain more details, visit www.broadbandusa.gov.

• Granholm Announces $34 Million in Recovery Act Grants to Expand Broadband Access in Michigan
LANSING - Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced that two Michigan applicants for federal broadband funding will receive more than $34 million to expand access to broadband service in communities throughout Michigan. The competitive grants, administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), are funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act).
