| Life in Reception |
|
Reception is
basically considered "quarantine" because movement for new prisoners
is so limited. While in the unit, prisoners may receive visits only from the following individuals: qualified clergy, the Office of Legislative Ombudsman, and attorneys on official business with the prisoner. They can use the telephone to make
collect calls, however. Prisoners are fed in the reception center and are
given one hour in the recreation yard per day. Library books and law books
are available. Onsite psychologists, social workers, physician's assistants,
nurses and doctors are also available. Prisoners may not have any outside
clothing or other property while in the unit. Religious services are available
on weekends.
