• The first step to understanding the risks is to perform a business impact assessment (BIA).
• BIA is a management-level assessment of financial and operational impacts that would result from a prolonged disruption of business operations.
• The BIA will measure and record all mission critical resources in the organization and their respective impact on the operations of the organization if service is interrupted.
