| Client Participation Payment Change |
The State of Michigan is changing the process by which client participation payments, or "rebates," are sent to customers. Currently, these payments of $50 or less are paid to the customer once a month. Starting in June 2008, the custodial party (CP) will receive this payment from the Michigan State Disbursement Unit in one of three ways:
- A direct deposit into the customer's checking or savings account
- Money added to the customer's child support debit card
- A check
The changes will also include the method and frequency of client participation payments.
