November 17, 2009 - The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) will present Arnold Center, Inc.'s Midland and Gladwin manufacturing facilities with the Michigan SHARP Award for safety and health excellence. The award ceremony will be held Thursday, November 19, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., at 400 Wexford Ave., in Midland.
Acceptance into the Michigan Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) is confirmation that a company has achieved safety and health excellence far beyond their peers. The MIOSHA Onsite Consultation Program within the Consultation Education and Training (CET) Division operates the Michigan SHARP Program. The MIOSHA program is part of the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth (DELEG).
MIOSHA Deputy Director Martha Yoder and CET Division Director Connie O'Neill will present the SHARP Award to Charlie Markey, Arnold Center President, Ann Frimodig, Arnold Center Safety Committee Chair and the Safety Committee. Employees from both manufacturing facilities, elected officials and invited guests will attend the award ceremony and reception.
Arnold Center is a non-profit community rehabilitation organization with facilities in Midland and Gladwin. Since 1967 it has served the tri-county area as a catalyst for improving the quality of life for the people they serve. As a provider of vocational and related training programs and an employer of persons with disabilities, the Arnold Center has developed a proud history of providing state-of-the-art services.
