The Office of Land Survey and Remonumentation is responsible for the administration of the Survey and Remonumentation Act, P.A. 345 of 1990. For the first time in 175 years a concerted effort has been made to identify and remark the approximately 300,000 property controlling corners in the state. All land ownership in Michigan, both public and private, are located from these property controlling corners.
