Governor Granholm signed into law Public Act 212 of 2005 on November 21, 2005, substantially reducing the fees profit corporations pay for authorized shares greater than 60,000.

Beginning May 1, 2002, the State of Michigan participates in the "Direct Registration" program with NCARB.

• Check Accountants CE Credits
CPAs can now check their continuing education on-line by simply entering their 10 digit license number. The application shows the number of carry over credits a CPA had from the continuing education period ending June 30, 2003, and the number of credits the CPA reported for his/her 2006-2007 license. CPAs can use this web page to confirm that they reported their continuing education hours to the Department for renewal of their license. At the end of the current renewal cycle, the web page will reflect any carry over hours for the period ending June 30, 2005.
