State Forest Campgrounds

State Forest Rustic Campground fees:
State Forest Campgrounds remain open all year, but access is limited by snow. Fees to be paid and placed in fee pipes on the day of your arrival.

  • $15 per night
  • Semi-modern, ORV, and Equestrian Campground - $20 per night
  • Group rate - $6.00 per person, per night within Rustic Group Campgrounds

Undesignated/Dispersed Camping
Requires a camp registration card. Registration cards may be obtained at any DNR Office.

  • No charge

State Forest Rustic Cottage and Cabin fees:
Cottages are available from Memorial Day weekend through mid-September.

State Park and Recreation Areas

These fees for state parks and recreation areas will go into effect for stays after January 1, 2008. State parks and recreation areas remain open year-round for day-use visitors,  Ten campgrounds are open for the winter months  During this time, prices are $16 a night for a semi-modern campsite and $10 a night for a rustic campsite.

Associated Camping Fees at State Park and Recreation Areas

  • Non-refundable reservation fee - $8
  • Local-sale/On-site registration fee - This fee has been cancelled. 
  • Site transfer fee - $5
  • Cancellation fee - $10

Full Hook-Up Campsite - $29--$33 per night
Full hook-up campsites feature direct sewer, water and electrical hook-ups with 20/30- or 50-amp service. Click on a campground below to find out more.

Premium Modern Campsite - $29-$28 per night
Premium campsites are in high demand typically because of site locations and feature 50-amp electric hookups, modern toilet buildings, showers, wheelchair-accessible sites and sanitation stations. In addition, some campgrounds have pull-through sites for larger vehicles. Click on a campground below to find out more.

Modern Campsite - $27-$16 per night

Modern campsites feature electric hookups (amps will vary), modern toilet buildings, showers, wheelchair-accessible sites and sanitation stations. In addition, some campgrounds have pull-through sites for larger vehicles. Click on a campground below to find out more.

Semi-Modern Campsite: There are two distinct options in this classification. The first offers electrical service but no modern toilet/shower buildings. Vault toilets are available on location and water is available from a hand pump. The second option provides modern toilet and shower buildings but no electrical hookups.

$18 per night -- Features 50-amp electrical service but no toilet/shower buildings

Fayette Historic State Park

$16 per night -- 30-amp electrical service OR modern toilet/shower buildings.

Rustic Campsite - $10-$14 per night

Vault toilets and hand pump water. No showers or flush toilets.

Equestrian Campground - $17 per night

Vault toilets, hand pumps and hitching posts for horses.

 

Teepee/Tent Camping - $28 per night

 

Boat Camping - $25 per night

 

 

State Park Mini Cabins - $45 per night

Located in modern state park campgrounds, near modern restroom facilities with showers and flush toilets, mini-cabins sleep four and are furnished with bunk beds, a table and electricity. When renting a cabin, you must provide your own bedding, cookware, tableware and other camp supplies. Some cabins have space heaters to ward off the winter chill. To reserve a cabin, call 1-800 44-PARKS or click the reservations button in the upper left-hand corner of your screen.

 

State Park Rustic Cabins - $60-$80 per night

Located in quiet, secluded settings, these cabins accommodate from four to 24 people. Hand pumps and vault toilets are located nearby. When renting a cabin, you must provide your own bedding, cookware, table ware, lanterns, flashlights and other camp supplies. To reserve a cabin, call the park.

Annual Resident State Park Motor Vehicle Permits (MVP) $24

Annual Non-Resident Motor Vehicle Permits $29

MVPs are required for entrance into all posted state parks and recreation areas except the five linear trail state parks. For further information about MVPs, definitions of each type and locations where they can be obtained, visit the Motor Vehicle Permit web page.

 

Senior Annual (65 years of age or older with a vehicle registered in Michigan ) $6

 

2008 Bridge Card Annual (available to individuals who possess a Michigan Bridge Card ) $18

Resident Daily State Park Motor Vehicle Permit $6

Non-Resident Daily State Park Motor Vehicle Permit $8

Towed Vehicle Permit (only available to individuals who tow a second motor vehicle with a motor home) $6

Daily State Park Motor Vehicle Permit for a Commercial bus or van $15 per day

All state park and recreation areas, but not available by telephone. The vehicle's registration, proof of age, bridge card and any additional documentation may be required to obtain the permits.

Annual Boating Access Site/Launch permits cost $24 and are required for entrance into marked fee sites. If a launch site is located within a state park or recreation area, a motor vehicle permit is required.

Daily Boating Access Site/Launch permits cost $6 and are required for entrance into marked fee sites. If a launch site is located within a state park or recreation area, a motor vehicle permit is required.

Other Recreational Fees

Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) Permits $16.25 Available at retail license vendors statewide.
