Equipment Grants

The DNR is currently offering archery equipment grants to schools who are in need of acquiring an archery equipment kit. The $1,300.00 matching equipment grants will be available on a limited basis to schools who adopt the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). Equipment grants will be limited to one grant per school district.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The School must provide a $1,300 match to the DNR to purchase the archery equipment. This sum represents 50% of the total cost of the archery equipment.
  • The school must agree to retain an instructor on staff who is qualified to teach the NASP archery unit curriculum. The instructor must have successfully completed either the Basic Archery Instructor (BAI) training course or the NAA/NFAA Level I Archery Instructor training course and maintain active certification.
  • The school must agree the archery unit curriculum will be taught during school hours in 4th thru 12th grades, or a combination thereof, respectively, on a yearly basis for a minimum of five (5) years.
  • The archery equipment will be used (at minimum)for the purpose of in-school archery instruction. The equipment may also be utilized for after-school archery clubs, school archery leagues, 4-H archery programs, and other community archery programs, as needed.
  • The school must agree to properly maintain and/or replace worn out or damaged archery equipment.
  • The school must agree to administer a DNR-issued student survey after the completion of each archery unit instruction and submit the survey's to the DNR for program evaluation purposes.
  • The school must agree to return the archery equipment to the DNR if the archery program is no longer implemented at the school during the normal school day, or if the school fails to retain a school instructor on staff who has completed the formal archery instructor training course.
