Governor Granholm Appoints Eight to the Michigan Quality Community Care Council

LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm announced the recent appointments of the following individuals to the Michigan Quality Community Care Council (QCCC).
 
Peggy Ball of Ann Arbor, manager of advocacy activities for the Ann Arbor Center for Independent Living.  Ms. Ball is appointed to represent consumers for a term expiring June 17, 2007.

Paul Bridgewater of Detroit, executive director for the Detroit Area Agency on Aging.  Mr. Bridgewater is appointed to represent consumer advocates for a term expiring June 17, 2008. 

Kathy Flowers of Flushing, community support coordinator and advocate for the Disability Network.  Ms. Flowers is appointed to represent consumer advocates for a term expiring June 17, 2005.

Sara Harrison of Lansing.  Ms. Harrison is appointed to represent consumers for a term expiring June 17, 2005.

Scott Heinzman of Livonia.  Mr. Heinzman is appointed to represent consumers for a term expiring June 17, 2006.

Mary K. Hoodhood of Grand Rapids, an independent living specialist and volunteer coordinator for Disability Advocates of Kent County.  Ms. Hoodhood is appointed to represent consumers for a term expiring June 17, 2008. 

Dohn Hoyle of Brighton, president of Association for Community Advocacy.  Mr. Hoyle is appointed to represent consumer advocates for a term expiring June 17, 2007.

Hassan Jaber of Dearborn, associate executive director for the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Service (A.C.C.E.S.S.).  Mr. Jaber is appointed to represent consumer advocates for a term expiring June 17, 2006.
 
The council shall endeavor to promote and coordinate effective and efficient personal assistance services, including the objective of creating and maintaining one or more registries of providers in designated Michigan communities.

These appointments are not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
