Whereas, Auctions of real and personal property are a beneficial marketing tool
in the United States and the world; and,
Whereas, The National Auctioneers Association (NAA) encourages members to support
their communities and local businesses through the conduct of auctions, charity
and otherwise; and,
Whereas, The NAA has contributed more than $2 million to help disease stricken
children treated at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis,
Tennessee; and,
Whereas, The NAA and its members seek to establish and uphold the highest standards
of professionalism for its members in serving the American public; and now therefore
be it,
Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan,
do hereby proclaim April 19, 2003 as Auctioneers Day in Michigan. I encourage
all citizens to recognize the contributions of NAA auctioneers for their contributions
to our communities, our economy and to the special children at St. Jude Children’s
Research Hospital.
