DTV Awareness Week

Whereas, The Federal Communications Commission has mandated that all television stations in the United States convert from their current analog technology to digital (DTV); and,

Whereas, Michigan Broadcasters have assumed a leadership role in the construction of new facilities and broadcast of DTV signals and programming; and,

Whereas, The conversion to DTV represents a significant transition for Michigan consumers; and,

Whereas, The Michigan Association of Broadcasters and the Michigan Association of Public Broadcasters have jointly launched a statewide consumer education campaign to assist Michigan citizens in making the transition to DTV; and now therefore be it,

Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim the week of March 8, 2004, as DTV Awareness Week in Michigan.
