Keys to Success Days

Whereas, The ability to speak in a clear and effective manner and to learn leadership skills are powerful and important tools that can help individuals in virtually every endeavor of their professional, civic, or personal lives; and,

Whereas, District 62 Toastmasters, which includes 84 clubs and 1,300 Toastmasters across most of Michigan and western Ontario, is a non-profit volunteer organization that strives to serve the communication and leadership skills of every individual Toastmaster; and,

 

Whereas, District 62 Toastmasters is part of Toastmasters International, which began in 1924, and now is the world's leading organization for public speaking and leadership skills, with over 1,300 clubs and more than 220,000 members in approximately 90 countries; and,

 

Whereas, The District 62 "Keys to Success" Conference provides its members an opportunity to conduct the district's business and election of 2008-2009 district officers, while offering educational workshops, world-class championship keynote speakers, a Toastmasters International Director's visit, and the annual Evaluation and International Speech contests; and now therefore be it,

 

Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, do hereby proclaim April 18 through April 20, 2008, as Keys to Success Days.
