Whereas, Animals play a vital role for citizens living in the State of Michigan;
and,
Whereas, The people of Michigan are committed to animal health and the prevention
of illness affecting all animals including livestock, wildlife, and pets; and,
Whereas, In the month of January, Lansing will host the 2004 Michigan Veterinary
Conference; the state’s largest veterinary educational meeting and one
of the foremost veterinary conferences in the United States of America; and,
Whereas, The 2004 Michigan Veterinary Conference will celebrate its sixteenth
anniversary by sharing the latest technology and techniques for maintaining
the health of all our state’s animals; and now therefore be it,
Resolved, That I, Jennifer M. Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan,
do hereby proclaim the week of January 19, 2004, as Animal Health Week in Michigan,
and I urge all citizens to recognize the importance of maintaining and bettering
the health of our entire animal population.
