State Land Sales

Who do I contact to get information about State land sales?

The Real Estate Services Section of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) manages a variety of state-owned lands including state parks and recreation areas, wildlife areas, water access sites and state forests. Occasionally, parcels are determined to be "surplus" to department management needs and are offered for sale through auction. If you have questions or concerns regarding the possible sale of state land by the DNR you can contact them through their website or by calling (517) 373-1240.

The Excess Property Unit within the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) manages the sale of excess real estate that is no longer needed for transportation purposes. If you have questions or concerns regarding the possible sale of state land by MDOT you can find additional information through their Excess Property website which also includes regional contact information.
