 | Jul 19 / 08 | Vintage Base Ball Game at Fort Mackinac, Mackinac Island This is "base ball" as it was meant to be played: barehanded and by gentlemen's rules on the old Scout Barracks ball field behind Fort Mackinac. The Fort Mackinac Never Sweats will play the Mackinaw City Boys in a game of Vintage Base Ball. Game begins at 7 p.m. ADMISSION Families: $15 Adult: $5 Youth (6-17): $3 Children 5 & under: Free Mackinac Associates above Heritage level: Free
 |  | Jul 19 / 08 - Jul 20 / 08 | Eastern Woodland Indian Art Exhibit and Sale at Colonial Michilimackinac, Mackinaw City, July 19-20, 2008
Mackinac State Historic Parks will host a frontier art show featuring works by Robert Griffing in the Visitor's Center of Colonial Michilimackinac, located under the south end of the Mackinac Bridge. The show features framed and matted prints, videos, stationery, and note cards depicting 18th- century Native American and military history. Hardbound copies of the colorfully illustrated book "The Art of Robert Griffing" are also available.. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission is included with Colonial Michilimackinac tickets.

 | Jul 01 / 08 - Aug 23 / 08 | Evening Hours at Fort Mackinac, Mackinac Island At the height of summer, tickets to Fort Mackinac are sold until 8 p.m and the fort buildings stay open until 10 p.m.. Grand Hotel also extends its service at the fort's Tea Room Restaurant for dinner overlooking the spectacular Straits of Mackinac.

 | Jul 01 / 08 - Aug 23 / 08 | Mackinac Island Historic Downtown Buildings open through Aug. 23, 2008. Mackinac's 19th-century fur trade community comes to life at the Biddle House, American Fur Company Store & Dr. Beaumont Museum, McGulpin House, and Benjamin Blacksmith Shop, all open from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. The Mission Church is open during these dates from noon-4 p.m., although it is not staffed. Admission included with Fort Mackinac ticket, or separate admission ticket can be purchased.

Over 100 years old, the Michigan Governor's Summer Residence has functioned as a summer home for eight Michigan governors and their families dating back to 1943. A rare look into the 1902 cottage overlooking Mackinac Island's harbor. Free.

 | Jul 01 / 08 - Oct 12 / 08 | Celebrating 50 Years of Historical Preservation and Museum Programs, through Oct. 12, 2008 Visited by nearly 20 million guests since 1958, Mackinac State Histoic Parks celebrates its 50th anniversary year by offering many exciting opportunities and events, including the June 15 celebration in Fort Mackinac, the very day the fort opened 50 years ago and the same day as the famed Mackinac Island lilac festival grand parade. Music, cake, engaging speeches and special events await your family at this anniversary celebration within the fort. In addition, the anniversary will also be celebrated by way of the June 17 Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park grand opening event and the June 21 Mackinac Associates G. Mennen Williams celebration.
