Do you need an ORC license?

Pinnacle Race Course employees in the following categories shall obtain ORC licenses:
  • Racing officials - including racing secretary, starter, horsemen's bookkeeper, clocker, clerk of scales, jockey room custodian, paddock judge, patrol judge, placing judge, horse identifier, and anyone else, other than participants, having a direct connection with the running of the races.
  • All track owners, managers, or anyone with fiduciary responsibility, or responsibility for pari-mutuel or simulcast operations.
  • Persons employed by the association or persons employed by a person or concern contracting with or approved by the association to provide a service or commodity, which requires their presence in a restricted area.
  • In addition, all vendors who have access to restricted areas are required to be licensed by our office.

Horse Racing Industry in the following categories shall obtain ORC licenses:

  • Apprentice Jockey / Jockey / Jockey Agent
  • Assistant Trainer / Trainer
  • Exercise Rider / Pony Rider / Outrider
  • Groom
  • Owner
  • Veterinarian / Veterinarian Assistant
