Many Michiganders now know about the always fatal effects Chronic Wasting Disease has on the whitetail deer and elk populations in North America.  The Governor has called for bold action to respond to the threat this disease poses to our native deer and elk populations.  Shortly after taking office, Governor Granholm convened the Chronic Wasting Disease Task Force to strategically assess the threat of CWD.  The Governor assigned me the task of overseeing the implementation of that Task Force’s recommendations.
