Food Safety

Food safety and security are top priorities of the Michigan Department of Agriculture. Public health is protected by ensuring a safe and wholesome food supply through enforcing and regulating, solving problems, and providing leadership and food safety expertise.

-	Food Law Updates - 2007 Michigan updated the state's food law in 2007. Major changes included adopting the FDA 2005 Food Code and requiring that many food establishments employ at least one certified manager by June 30, 2009.
