Renewable Fuels Commission
Click here for: In an effort to encourage the production and use of biodiesel and ethanol products in Michigan, increase the viability of Michigan's agriculture industry, and reduce the nation's dependence on foreign oil, Governor Jennifer Granholm approved a bipartisan package of bills to encourage the use of renewable fuels within the state. The legislation in the seven-bill package included a law establishing a renewable fuels commission within the state's Department of Agriculture (MDA).
