Animal Remedy Licensing

There are a variety of tools and products used by farmers and pet owners to protect their animals' health and to treat them if they become sick.

Animal remedies, such as vaccines, antibiotics and other pharmaceutical drugs can be a benefit to farm animals and pets alike.

The Animal Remedies Program provides assurance that drugs and vaccines used in the modern practice of raising and caring for farm and companion animals are safe, properly labeled, and effective for the treatment or prevention of disease.  Sickness in farm animals can cause decreases in the production of food products and increase the risk of disease in humans, either through direct exposure or through food.
