Obtaining a Wholesale Dealers License and Paying Fees

How Can I Obtain a License?

In order to obtain a license, applicants must:

  1. Complete an MDA Wholesale Potato Dealer license application.
  2. Surety or lending institute must complete a letter of credit or a letter of bond.
  3. Mail the completed license application, a letter of credit or letter of bond and the licensing Fee before June 1 of each year to: 

Michigan Department of Agriculture
Fruit and Vegetable Inspection Program
Pesticide and Plant Pest Management Division

Licensing fee
$100.00
Each certified copy of license
$5.00

***There is also a fee of $5.00 for each buyer or agent working on behalf of the licensed wholesale potato dealer. Agent or buyers must be listed on the wholesale potato dealer license application.
