| Do I need to be licensed to operate a lawn care company? |
|
Depending on the type of service you plan to provide, a license may be required for your lawn care company. Where lawn care companies are concerned the Michigan Department of Agriculture licenses pesticide application businesses and certifies pesticide applicators. If your company will be applying pesticides or herbicides, even in the form of a "weed-n-feed" type fertilizer, a license is required. If you're unsure, it is best to talk to a Michigan Department of Agriculture representative to find out before you begin. Click here to find the MDA regional office nearest yourself.
