A section 1115 demonstration waiver proposal entitled Modernizing Michigan Medicaid was submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on June 1, 2005.  The proposal would modify benefits available to some current Medicaid beneficiaries, modify the reimbursement methodology for Medicaid HMOs, and eliminate retroactive enrollment for all potential Medicaid enrollees.  The waiver proposal and a summary of comments received during the public comment period are available for review with the following links:
