Current grant is based on a two-year funding cycle. (2007-2009)
Dental sealant grant funds are available on a competitive basis for a funding cycle of two years based on availability of funds and grantee's performance. The State of Michigan funding cycle for school-based/school-linked dental sealant programs commenced October 1, 2007 and extends through September 30, 2009. Funding beyond the first year is dependent on the availability of appropriated funds in the subsequent fiscal year and grantee's satisfactory performance.
Funds are made available to public and non-profit eligible organizations approved by the Michigan Department of Community Health. Local organizations such as health departments, dental clinics, dental, dental hygiene, and dental assisting components and associations, schools of dentistry and dental hygiene, school districts and superintendents of schools can apply.
Currently, (as of October 1, 2007) all dental sealant grant funds have been allocated for the funding cycle but additional funding opportunities may become available in the future.
