CIVIL SERVICE REGULATION 5.02, PREMIUM PAYMENT OF OVERTIME, ON-CALL COMPENSATION, AND CALLBACK COMPENSATION

Regulation 5.02, Premium Payment of Overtime, On-call Compensation, and Callback Compensation, was circulated for review and comment under SPDOC 08-03, dated February 20, 2008.
|
On March 19, 2008, the Civil Service Commission approved amendments to rule 5-4.2, Overtime. The amendment revised overtime eligibility for non-exclusively represented employees to clarify that overtime is generally only paid for work in excess of 40 hours in a week.
As a result of this rule amendment, regulation 5.02 has also been revised to reflect that overtime payment is made to eligible employees for time worked in excess of 40 hours in a week. The regulation further clarifies that time worked excludes sick leave.
This regulation is now being issued with an effective date of March 23, 2008.
