The Michigan Merit Examination (MME) assesses students in grade 11 (and eligible students in grade 12) based on Michigan high school standards. It is administered each spring, and consists of three components:
- ACT Plus Writing® college entrance examination
WorkKeys® job skills assessments in reading, mathematics, and "locating information"
Michigan-developed assessments in mathematics, science, and social studies
► A student may not take the MME more than once, pursuant to new Michigan law. Some exceptions exist. For the latest news regarding this change in law, and information about a possible alternate way for grade 12 students to still become eligible for the installment payments of the $4000 Michigan Promise scholarship without taking the MME a second time, click here (revised 10-3-08).
