Michigan Profile for Healthy Youth — MiPHY
The Michigan Profile for Healthy Youth (MiPHY) is an online student health survey offered by the Michigan Departments of Education and Community Health to support local and regional needs assessment. The MiPHY provides student results on health risk behaviors including substance use, violence, physical activity, nutrition, sexual behavior, and emotional health in grades 7, 9, and 11. The survey also measures risk and protective factors most predictive of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use and violence. MiPHY results, along with other school-reported data, will help schools make data-driven decisions to improve programming funded under the Title IV Safe and Drug-Free Schools (SDFS) program of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 as well as other prevention and health promotion programming.
Schools and districts register and survey via an on-line system. See below for information about the MiPHY.

Announcements
• The 2007-08 MiPHY survey cycle is now closed. The MiPHY is not available during the 2008-09 school year. It will be open in October for the 2009-10 school year and continue off-years of the Michigan Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS). Please support the Michigan YRBS if your school is randomly selected for this statewide survey. Results of the Michigan YRBS are used as benchmarks to the local MiPHY surveys. | • The 2007-08 MiPHY county reports are now available! To access high school or middle school county reports, follow the link below under Reports. A minimum of at least two districts and at least two building types (middle school or high school) must participate for a county/regional report to generate. | • New! 2007-08 Average Age of Onset Calculations on MiPHY data are available. In order to better assist locals to meet federal reporting requirements, such as the SAMHSA Drug-Free Communities grant, an additional calculation of existing MiPHY data was done. The age of first use questions for tobacco, alcohol, and marijuana were re-calculated to provide the average age of onset for each substance.
In the future, this calculation will be included within reports. The 2007-08 calculations are available below in the Report section of this website.
