Under the direction of a school administrator, a school employee may administer medication to a student as long as there is written permission of the parent/guardian and the medication is given in compliance with the instructions of a physician. Except in an emergency, the medication must be given in the presence of another adult. The school employee is held harmless from liability except in the case of gross negligence or misconduct.
