The USDA has identified some beef for processing that is suspected to be contaminated.  The beef in this recall was not directly sent to schools as it is packaged.  It is beef meant for further processing into ground beef products, which then may be sent to schools.

This beef has not been used in USDA commodities, but there may be some commercial product intended for schools that could contain the recalled beef.  Since the health and safety of our customers is important to us all, we want you to be aware of the potential for some of your commercial products to contain beef that the USDA is recalling due to a potential contamination with E-coli.
