MDOT to open new Vernor Highway ramp to I-75 two months ahead of schedule

WHAT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new Vernor Highway ramp to northbound I-75 in Mexicantown.

WHERE: Parking available on the east service drive north of Vernor Highway.

BACKGROUND: Opening two months ahead of schedule, the Vernor Highway ramp to northbound I-75 is another milestone in MDOT's I-75 Gateway Project, providing a direct link to Mexicantown restaurants and businesses.

During the week of Oct. 26, the MDOT Metro Region is kicking off a weeklong event to encourage the Metro Detroit community to visit shops and restaurants in Mexicantown and southwest Detroit.

The $230 million I-75 Gateway Project is now 95 percent complete. For up-to-date information on the project, visit the project Web site at www.michigan.gov/gateway.
