How traffic is affected:
  • Two lanes of traffic are anticipated to be maintained on northbound and southbound I-75 at Nine Mile Road during peak travel periods. The I-75 service drives will have a single lane open in each direction during bridge replacement work.
  • Posted detour routes for Nine Mile Road:
    • Eastbound Nine Mile Road is detoured to the southbound service drive to cross over I-75 at West Woodruff Avenue and then to the northbound service drive.
    • Westbound Nine Mile Road is detoured to the northbound service drive to Woodward Heights Boulevard to cross over I-75 to the southbound service drive.
    • Nine Mile Road pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the John R Road bridge for both directions.

During temporary nighttime closures of I-75, which will be necessary for setting steel bridge beams, traffic will exit the freeway at Nine Mile Road, follow the service drives and enter the freeway at the Nine Mile Road entrance ramps.
