I-94 Modernization Study
I-94Overview
This project was initiated in 2000 to develop an overall strategy for modernization of the Interstate 94 corridor, from M-60 to Sargent Road in Jackson County. In April 2007, the Federal Highway Administration issued its Record of Decision, documenting the study outcome.

Throughout the environmental study process, MDOT and its consulting firm worked with community officials and the area's transportation service providers. They analyzed three practical alternatives for the corridor and examined their potential environmental impacts. An alternative that incorporates elements from all three was selected and is described in the ROD document.
