Approved Postsecondary Educational Institutions (updated 10/08)

The Michigan Promise scholarship requires that eligible students attend an approved postsecondary educational institution located in Michigan in order to receive their award. Approved postsecondary educational institutions include the following:
- Public or private colleges, universities, junior colleges, or community colleges that grant degrees or certificates located in Michigan.
- Other postsecondary educational institutions located in Michigan that grant degrees, certificates, or other recognized credential approved by the Department of Treasury.
- A military service academy.
The requirements for institutions to participate in the Michigan Promise scholarship program are different than those for the Michigan Merit Award program. Therefore, some institutions approved for the Michigan Merit Award were not approved for the Michigan Promise scholarship. For additional questions, please contact the Office of Scholarships and Grants via email at osg@michigan.gov or 1-888-4-GRANTS (1-888-447-2687).
