| Michigan Homeless Summit |
.
Michigan's 3rd Annual Summit on Ending Homelessness will be held at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing and is dedicated to creating cross-regional networking opportunities. The goal is to foster a sense of leadership and innovation among all of the service providers charged with interpreting and executing the many elements of the Campaign to End Homelessness.
This year's theme is "Building A Foundation for Success." The Summit is organized around four major principles:
- Sharing the latest information from the state and nation relevant to the real work of ending homelessness;
- Providing an environment for anecdotal input and productive conversations on specific topics or issues that will foward the goals of the Campaign;
- Fostering opportunities for informal exchange and networking both within regional breakous and across the state; and
- Delivering quality presentations and keynote address that will motivate, inform, renew and energize conference attendees!
The 2008 Summit will have over 20 sessions, several running twice, this Summit will benefit anyone interested in ending homelessness. Here is a link to the Summit Agenda and Session Descriptions

Michigan planted itself firmly in the National Partnership of results oriented, performance based, jurisdictionally led, and community based 10-year planning efforts with the simultaneous unveiling of 60 community commitments to 10-Year Plans to End Homelessness covering 100% of Michigan's 83 counties.
This unprecedented state achievement of 100% participation was celebrated at a two day Michigan Homeless Summit held in Lansing attended by more than 650 people that marked the official launch of Michigan's Campaign to End Homelessness.
Homeless advocates from around the country, state and local officials, and service providers came together to celebrate the completion of the plans on the first day of the conference. The second day was devoted to implementation strategies, as leaders attempted to equip the counties with the tools they need to move forward with the ten year plans. This development in Michigan significantly increases the number of completed ten year plans around the country.
