Owosso, Michigan. The Michigan State Police are continuing the investigation into the fire that destroyed the Owosso State Police Post on Tuesday, April 9, 2002.
State Police Fire Marshal investigators have completed their investigation at the scene. Additional follow-up investigative work is being conducted by the State Police Field Detective Division.
Normal State Police patrols resumed at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening and all MSP law enforcement services have resumed. According to MSP First District Commander, Capt. Pete Munoz, "We are conducting site visits today at a number of facilities we could relocate to. We would like to have a decision made very quickly regarding where our next home will be for our Owosso troopers."
Personnel are currently working out of a mobile command post in Owosso until another facility is located.
