East Lansing - The Red Wings Alumni and the Michigan State Police hockey teams faced-off in a benefit hockey game on Saturday, March 1, 2003, at Munn Ice Arena on the campus of Michigan State University.
The event raised almost $10,000 for the Trooper Fred Hardy and Trooper Rick Johnson Scholarship Funds. These funds benefit the children of fallen Michigan State Police troopers Fred Hardy and Rick Johnson.
"We appreciate the Red Wings Alumni team for joining us in this benefit game," said Trooper Gerald Badgett, player and team manager for the MSP team. "It was a lot of fun and raised money for a good cause."
Approximately 450 people attended Saturday’s game.
