The West Region Special Investigation Division provides investigative services for local, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in 73 Michigan counties. The division consists of many distinctive teams and units. The division provides specialized investigative services in the following areas – white collar crimes, tax fraud, money laundering, commercial auto theft, narcotics trafficking and interdiction, computer crimes, identity fraud, fire investigation and training, video enhancement, and electronic technical services. Fifteen multijurisdictional drug task forces, composed of state, local, county and federal agencies, are supervised by the West Region Special Investigation Division.
