Local Media

WHEN: Wednesday, May 14
9:30 a.m.

WHERE: MDOT Zilwaukee Bridge Maintenance Building on M-13 (Washington Avenue) at I-75

Note: This building is located at the bridge site

BACKGROUND: As MDOT continues work on the Zilwaukee Bridge in Saginaw County, northbound lanes will remain closed though Memorial Day weekend to allow fabrication of a steel bracket on the exterior of a bridge beam.

Work to replace the three-foot-diameter bridge bearings, which closed the northbound I-75 lanes, was suspended in early April when work crews cut several reinforcing bars in the bridge, after unexpectedly encountering the steel.
