MDOT to add center left-turn lane on M-15, beginning Monday, July 14

Contact:  Anita Richardson 989-754-0878, ext. 227
Agency: Transportation

COUNTY: Genesee

HIGHWAY: M-15

CLOSEST CITY: Davison

STARTING DATE: Monday, July 14

ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE: Late August 2008

PROJECT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is scheduled to widen one-third of a mile on M-15, from north of Potter Road to south of Potter Road in Davison and Richfield townships. This roadwork, which includes paving and culvert work, will allow the addition of a center left-turn lane on M-15 at Potter Road.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: Daytime shoulder closures will be in effect for the duration of this project. Traffic will be maintained using flag control. Potter Road, east of M-15, will be closed with traffic detoured for one day, to allow culvert removal. During the closure, motorists traveling on M-15 will be routed to Flint Street (Davison Road) to Oak Street, then back to M-15.

For updates on this project, visit the list of statewide lane closures on the MDOT Web site at www.michigan.gov/laneclosures.

CUSTOMER BENEFIT: This $549,000 project will increase safety for Michigan motorists.
