The fresh meat and poultry salad products were produced between April 19 and April 24. The frozen products were produced between October 23, 2007, and April 23, 2007.

Problem/Reason for Recall:
The recalled product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.  Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially fatal disease. Healthy people rarely contract listeriosis. However, listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea. Listeriosis can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths, as well as serious and sometimes fatal infections in those with weakened immune systems, such as infants, the elderly and persons with HIV infection or undergoing chemotherapy. 

The problem was discovered through microbiological sampling by FSIS and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

FSIS has received no reports of illnesses associated with consumption of products subject to this recall.
