Citizens Committee for Michigan State Parks to Meet July 30 at Rifle River Recreation Area

The Citizens Committee for Michigan State Parks (CCMSP) will meet Wednesday, July 30, at the Rifle River Recreation Area in Lupton.

The regular meeting of the committee will begin at 12:30 p.m., with a brief introduction and public comment. The committee will then receive updates and reports on long-term sustainable funding, various parks and recreation programs, motor vehicle permits and camping reservations, performance indicators and financial reports, and various land, policy and legislative issues that affect the state parks and recreation system. The stewardship subcommittee will report on the Negwegon, Rockport and Thompson's Harbor (NRTH) General Management Plan for consideration.

The Citizens Committee for Michigan State Parks is an advisory group, created by Public Act 392 of 2004, to address issues concerning state parks and recreation areas, including planning for long-term sustainable funding.

Individuals attending the meeting are requested to refrain from using heavily scented personal care products to enhance accessibility for everyone. Persons with disabilities needing accommodations for this meeting should contact the DNR Parks and Recreation Division at 517-335-4827 a minimum of five working days prior to the meeting to insure accommodations can be arranged.
