Location and Hours
The Office of the Great Seal is located on the first floor of the Richard H. Austin building at 430 W Allegan in downtown Lansing. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except on state recognized holidays). Please arrive at least one hour prior to closing to allow sufficient time to process your documents. Metered parking is available along the south side of Allegan Street.

North from Alpena: Follow US-23 South to M 32. Take M 32 to M 33. Follow M 33 to I-75 South. Take I-75 South to I-69 East/West towards Flint/Port Huron/Lansing. Follow I-69 West towards Lansing to US-127 South. Take US-127 to I-496 to Downtown Lansing. Follow I-496 West to Martin Luther King Blvd/M-99, Exit #5. After exiting the freeway, immediately cross over into the right-hand lane of W St. Joseph St. Turn north (right) onto MLK at the signal and continue north on MLK. At the second signal, turn east (right) onto Allegan St. (East Capitol Loop). Proceed east on Allegan until you reach the Richard H. Austin Building on the left, 430 W. Allegan.

From Mt. Pleasant: Follow 27 BR towards M-20. Take the US-27 South ramp. Merge onto US-27 South. Take the I-69 East exit to US-127 South. Follow US-127 to I-496 Downtown Lansing exit. Follow I-496 West to Martin Luther King Blvd/M-99, Exit #5. After exiting the freeway, immediately cross over into the right-hand lane of W St. Joseph St. Turn north (right) onto MLK at the signal and continue north on MLK. At the second signal, turn east (right) onto Allegan St. (East Capitol Loop). Proceed east on Allegan until you reach the Richard H. Austin Building on the left, 430 W. Allegan.

From Traverse City: Follow US-31 to M 37. Take M 115 to US-10 BR to US-10 East. Take US-27 South to Bay City/Lansing. Follow US-27 South. Take the I-69 East exit to US-127 South. Follow US-127 to I-496 Downtown Lansing exit. Follow I-496 West to Martin Luther King Blvd/M-99, Exit #5. After exiting the freeway, immediately cross over into the right-hand lane of W St. Joseph St. Turn north (right) onto MLK at the signal and continue north on MLK. At the second signal, turn east (right) onto Allegan St. (East Capitol Loop). Proceed east on Allegan until you reach the Richard H. Austin Building on the left, 430 W. Allegan.

East from Detroit: Follow I-96 West to Lansing. Take I-496 to downtown Lansing. Follow I-496 West to Martin Luther King Blvd/M-99, Exit #5. After exiting the freeway, immediately cross over into the right-hand lane of W St. Joseph St. Turn north (right) onto MLK at the signal and continue north on MLK. At the second signal, turn east (right) onto Allegan St. (East Capitol Loop). Proceed east on Allegan until you reach the Richard H. Austin Building on the left, 430 W. Allegan.

From Flint: Follow I-69 West to Lansing. Take I-69 to US-127 South. Follow US-127 to I-496 Downtown Lansing exit. Follow I-496 West to Martin Luther King Blvd/M-99, Exit #5. After exiting the freeway, immediately cross over into the right-hand lane of W St. Joseph St. Turn north (right) onto MLK at the signal and continue north on MLK. At the second signal, turn east (right) onto Allegan St. (East Capitol Loop). Proceed east on Allegan until you reach the Richard H. Austin Building on the left, 430 W. Allegan.

South from Jackson: Follow US-127 North to Lansing. Merge left on I-496 to Downtown Lansing. Follow I-496 West to Martin Luther King Blvd/M-99, Exit #5. After exiting the freeway, immediately cross over into the right-hand lane of W St. Joseph St. Turn north (right) onto MLK at the signal and continue north on MLK. At the second signal, turn east (right) onto Allegan St. (East Capitol Loop). Proceed east on Allegan until you reach the Richard H. Austin Building on the left, 430 W. Allegan.

From Kalamazoo: Follow I-94 East to the I-69 Lansing/Ft. Wayne exit. Follow I-69 towards Lansing to the Lansing Road exit, #70. Follow Lansing Road to I-496 east. Follow I-496 East to the Martin Luther King Blvd/M-99 (MLK), Exit #5. Proceed east on W. Main St. Turn north (left) onto MLK at the second signal and continue north on MLK. At the third signal, turn east (right) onto Allegan St. (East Capitol Loop). Proceed east on Allegan until you reach the Richard H. Austin Building on the left, 430 W. Allegan.

West from Grand Rapids: Follow I-96 East to Lansing. Take I-496 to downtown Lansing. Follow I-496 East to the Martin Luther King Blvd/M-99 (MLK), Exit #5. Proceed east on W. Main St. Turn north (left) onto MLK at the second signal and continue north on MLK. At the third signal, turn east (right) onto Allegan St. (East Capitol Loop).
