Mobile Branch Office plans South Lyon visit Aug. 16 - 17
AUGUST 2, 2006
Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will be in Oakland County to serve customers in the South Lyon area on Aug. 16 - 17.
The facility is a full-service Secretary of State branch office and is accessible to the disability community. It is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer.
It will be at the South Lyon Senior Center, 1000 N. Lafayette at the corner of Pontiac Trail and 11 Mile. Wednesday, Aug. 16 hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 17 hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"The Mobile Branch Office reflects our commitment to deliver prompt, convenient service," Land said. "It lets us reach out to all corners of Michigan. I encourage area residents to take advantage of this opportunity."
Later this month the Mobile Branch Office will be at the Michigan State Fair in Detroit. It has logged more than 100,000 miles since it first hit the road nearly nine years ago.
Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check out the department's online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license tabs and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site will help customers determine requirements before they go to an office.
