St. Clair County Secretary of State office to close for 3 days to prepare for remodelingAPRIL 6, 2011 Office to move temporarily to nearby suite in same mall until summer The Secretary of State St. Clair County PLUS Office at 2887 Krafft Road in Port Huron will close for three days in April to temporarily move into a nearby suite while its current location is renovated, Secretary of State Ruth Johnson announced today. The office will be closed from Wednesday, April 13 to Friday, April 15. It will reopen at 9 a.m., April 18 in Suite 1100 at the other end of the Court of Flags Mall. It is expected to move back to its present location this summer after the renovations have been completed. "This is a temporary yet necessary move that will give us the chance to expand and provide better customer service at our existing PLUS office," Johnson said. "Area residents soon will be able to do business with the Secretary of State in a larger and improved facility." St. Clair County residents who need Secretary of State services during the three-day relocation may visit the following offices:
The offices are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Customers who need to renew license plates can "skip the trip" to a branch office by renewing online or through the mail. Easy-to-follow instructions are enclosed with the renewal notice.
