Secretary of State St. Johns office to close for remodeling June 8-15

Mobile Office to serve customers during project


ST. JOHNS, Mich. – The Secretary of State office at 1041 S. U.S. Highway 27 in St. Johns will be closed for remodeling June 8-15.

Customers and staff will benefit from renovations that include new carpeting and other updates. The office will reopen at 9 a.m. on June 18.

The Secretary of State Mobile Office is scheduled to be in a different location within the same building from June 8-15 and will offer all of the services available at the traditional branch office. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Signs will direct customers to the Mobile Office.

Area residents who need Secretary of State services during the remodeling period may also visit the following offices:

       Capital Area SUPER!Center    Lansing Area PLUS

  Shiawassee County PLUS      
  1720 E. Main Street      
  Owosso      

The Lansing Area and Shiawassee County PLUS offices are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The Capital Area SUPER!Center has the same hours as the PLUS offices and is also open from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

People renewing license plates, driver's licenses and ID cards can do business online at www.ExpressSOS.com or by mail. Easy to follow instructions can be found with the renewal notice. Additional services can be done online as well.

License plate tabs can also be renewed at Self-Service Stations, which are available 24/7 at the Capital Area SUPER!Center, Lansing Area PLUS and Shiawassee County PLUS. Visit the Branch Office Locator at www.Michigan.gov/sos to find a Self-Service Station near you.
