Department of State is making tracks!
NOVEMBER 20, 2003
Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today announced that the Mobile Branch Office will be in the Allegan County community of Plainwell on Dec. 3 and 4 to serve area customers.
The facility provides all services found at any Secretary of State branch office and is handicapper accessible. It is hauled statewide on a 24-foot trailer.
It will be at Plainwell City Hall, 141 N. Main Street. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days.
"The Mobile Branch Office is one more way that we are reaching out to our customers," Land said. "We're always looking for ways to offer service that is more efficient and convenient."
Following its visit to Plainwell, the Mobile Branch Office will travel to Battle Creek and Richland. It has logged nearly 100,000 miles since it first hit the road six years ago.
Land encourages all customers who have Internet access to check out the department's online services at www.Michigan.gov/sos before visiting any branch office. For example, license plates and watercraft registrations can be renewed online. Browsing the site also helps customers determine fees and requirements before they go to an office.
