"The Michigan Tax Tribunal needs a new website" is what we were told. That was in June of 2005; work began in July. It was clear from the beginning that this was not going to be a small project. By the time we launched, all the graphics had been redesigned, a new color scheme approved, new photos had been taken and approximately 350 pages of content with well over 1,000 related links had been produced.
When this project began in July of 2005, we began with deconstructing the existing site to analyze its present structure. A stronger, more integrated navigation system was designed and the new site began to take shape. New content would be necessary that would also have to be approved prior to posting. It was obvious the scope of the project would require contribution from many different people. With assistance offered from inside the Tribunal, the Department of Information and Technology and E-Michigan, the site launched in January of 2006.
Providing means for future growth of the site is essential. The Internet is a very dynamic place and new content is always sought.
