YOUR VOICE IS IMPORTANT
Addressing issues that Michigan's Units of Local Government are facing is important to us and we want to hear from you, whether you are a representative of a local unit or a public citizen.
The Department of Treasury will begin posting a question each month on this new web page to obtain your ideas and input on various topics affecting local government.
You do not need to identify yourself when answering the questions. Replies to each question will be summarized and turned over to a State-wide Commission that has been established to address long-term fiscal stability of Michigan's Local Units of Government and State/local relations. Your responses will be counted and ranked, and then you will have the chance to vote on what you feel is the most important issue raised each month. Your votes will be used to focus resources on addressing the most critical challenges for our Local Units of Government.
Just as we want to hear from you, Local Government Services has several electronic mailing lists available to you to keep in touch with what is going on at our end. If you have not already done so, please sign up for one of our many mailing lists. Staying in contact is important and by utilizing electronic mailing lists, you are able to add or remove yourself at anytime.
What suggestions do you have for local units of government to keep their level of services current while facing a decline in revenue?
