INTERNET FILED CLAIMS - You may apply for unemployment benefits via our Internet-based service. Click here for more information or to get started.
TELEPHONE FILED CLAIMS - You can file for unemployment benefits by telephone from anywhere in Michigan and North America. The state's unemployment insurance program has established a special toll-free telephone number for you to use in filing a new claim or reopening an established claim. We encourage you to file by telephone. Filing by mail could actually delay your claim. Click here for more information.
HOW TO MAKE AN INQUIRY ABOUT YOUR CLAIM - If you have filed for unemployment benefits by Internet or telephone and have a question or problem with your claim, call our telephone filed claims number using a touch-tone telephone. The inquiry option is available weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Click CALL MARVIN TOLL-FREE - Contact MARVIN by phone or online -- You must report (certify) through MARVIN once every two weeks to claim your unemployment benefits. MARVIN is available, either by telephone or online, Monday through Wednesday, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) at your scheduled day and time. Make your check or money order payable to "State of Michigan - UIA" and be sure to include your Social Security Number on the front of your payment.
FRAUD HOTLINE - There is a 24-hour Toll Free Fraud Hotline telephone number available to anonymously report unemployment fraud. Call 1-800-822-1122.
